Foundation Holds Annual Annual General Meeting on April 27 2011
On April 27th of 2011 the Lac du Bonnet & District Charitable Foundation held its Annual General Meeting for 2010. Several reports were given. Out going President, Cliff Zarecki noted that our total funds were now nearly $200,000 and several significant donation were received in the past year.
He noted that in 2010 the Foundation was able to give out the first grants to the community. About $600 was granted to the Community Centre to assist with upgrades to the bowling lanes and similar amount was granted to the Library for painting upgrades. It was anticipated that there will be considerably more funds to give back to the community as our funds have grown considerably.
Mr. Zarecki also noted that we have at least one corporate partner, Acsion Industries has challenge grant out for its employees. Acsion Industries will match up to $25,000 over the next five years all donations made by its employees to the Foundation. See story below.
From Acsion Industries
The Lac du Bonnet & District Charitable Foundation and Acsion Industries are please to announce a new corporate partnership program for Acsion’s current and past employees and contractors. The “Thank-you Lac du Bonnet” program sees Acsion match the donations made to the foundation from their employees and contractors over the next five years, to a total of $25,000. Acsion has also set-up a payroll deduction plan to make it easy for staff to donate.
“Lac du Bonnet has been a great home for many of Acsion’s employees and contractors”, said Chris Saunders, President of Acsion. “Many of our staff have lived and worked here for decades. This new partnership with the Lac du Bonnet Foundation allows us to say thank-you to the town in a significant, on-going way”.
“The Foundation welcomes Acsion to our family of corporate partners”, added Maurice Rutherford, Chairman of the foundation. Their generosity will help us raise as much as $50,000 to support the great charities in our town. This is a wonderful gift for the foundation and we hope that their “Thank-you Lac du Bonnet” program can become a model for other local companies as we work together to grow the foundation”.
The funds generated from the program will be added to the endowment funds of the foundation. The revenues generated from these investments will be donated annually to worthy charities in and around Lac du Bonnet. For the complete news release: Acsion Partners with LdB Foundation (.pdf).
