On Friday December 12th the Board of the Harry Josephson Foundation donated its capital endowment of nearly $20,000 to the Lac du Bonnet & District Charitable Foundations Health and Senior Services General Fund. It will continue to be used to enhance the quality of life for seniors in the Lac du Bonnet area in keeping with the wishes of the late Harry Josephson who established the fund in 1999.

The fund has been used in the past to provide facilities and furnishings for the Bonny Vista Seniors Housing but the Harry Josephson Board has found it increasingly difficult to utilize the fund solely for those purposes under the tight standards of Manitoba Housing. “The Harry Josephson Board felt that it would continue to serve seniors well and best honour the wishes of Harry Josephson by placing the money with the Charitable Foundation” said Gordon Emberley, Harry Josephson Board Chairman.

The Lac du Bonnet & District Charitable Foundation works closely with other community groups and with government to fund worthy projects within the Community that make Lac du Bonnet a better place for living. In total more than $7,000 was granted in 2014. Specifically related to the cause of seniors, in 2013 the Charitable Foundation helped the Heart & Stroke Foundation place an Automatic Electronic Defibrillator in the Pioneer Club.
